The Punjab Government has launched the SEHAR Initiative (Skills Enhancement Through Home Reach), a major women empowerment program designed to provide market-driven vocational training to 5,365 women across Punjab.
This initiative focuses on removing traditional barriers to education and employment by delivering skill-based training directly at the doorstep of women in rural, semi-urban, and urban areas.
Implemented under the broader vision of the Punjab Growth Strategy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SEHAR aims to transform women into financially independent contributors to the economy.
What is the SEHAR Initiative?
SEHAR stands for Skills Enhancement Through Home Reach, a women-focused training program introduced to improve employability and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The program is being implemented through community mobilization involving local leaders, district administration, and Women Development Department staff.
Its core idea is simple but powerful:
bring skills to women instead of expecting women to travel for training.
Key Training Areas
The SEHAR Initiative offers training in three major market-demand sectors:
Digital Skills Training
Women will be trained in modern digital competencies including:

Eligibility Criteria
The program has different eligibility requirements based on training category:
Digital Skills Training
- Rural women preference
- Age: up to 30 years (90%), above 30 years (10%)
- Minimum 16 years of education
- Must be from defined rural areas
Hospitality Training
- Age: 18–45 years
- Minimum education: Matric
- Valid CNIC and Punjab domicile
- Priority for widows, divorced and low-income women
Beautician Training
- Age: 18–45 years
- Minimum: literate
- CNIC and domicile required
- Priority for vulnerable groups
